HAPPY 2010

Thanks to Mimi and Granddaddy, Chris and I were able to ring in the new year alone - a first since we've been married. And we had a great night! Thanks to you both - we needed a date night! When I made it to mom and dad's this morning to pick up the boys, mom informed me that Reid said a word that is oh-so displeasing to the ears - TWICE. As my MIL says, what monkey sees - monkey does. And he did. I told mom I would talk to him about it on the way home. So I captured the boys' attention as much as possible and proceeded to talk to them about the situation as well as the consequences of saying it again. I also spoke specifically to Reid since he was the one who said it. I turned to look at him and asked if he understood everything. He looked at me sort of with a half-cocked smile then looked out the window and said, "It's sunny today," and just stared out the window. Oh Reid...

A couple of recent developments:

Do you know what this picture represents? (and no, it has nothing to do with that dab of paint on his cheek I somehow missed while wiping his face after we painted that morning):

A sleeping baby with no paci! YAY REID!! You go Turbo! It just kind of happened and boy am I glad it did! We're on day 3 and we've had our moments, but all-in-all, he's done really well. I think we're over the hump!

Bethany had her first New Year's Eve party last night. I must admit I was a bit skeptical and nervous but we know we have to loosen the reigns a bit - let her discover some things on her own as hard as that is to do. And she did. And I couldn't be more proud of how she handled herself. What a great role model you are for your brothers and sisters, Umby, as well as your peers! Tara sent me this picture from her iPhone of B all dressed up for the party.

I know there's more but this mama's tired. Staying up past midnight isn't something we do a lot around here. It'll take me a few days to catch up. :) I'll end this post with a few more pics:
