MAC EARNS A SCAR; ANYONE ELSE MISSING AN ARM? MAYBE A LEG TOO?

Well, Mac has earned himself a scar. And because I've posted the others' war wounds, I must post Bueller's too. He had a little accident on his bicycle a couple of days ago. It's the first of many I'm sure. His chin took most of the fall which left him with this:

He's a tough cookie, though. By the time I got him inside to clean him up he had already calmed down. At least until he heard me mention the word stitches. Both his brothers have taken trips to the ER for stitches (Grant for liquid stitch to the forehead and Reid for real stitches to the forehead), so he knows what they're all about. I really thought he could've used at least liquid stitch. I knew Chris was in the neighborhood on a job site. So I called and asked him to come home to look and see if he thought he needed stitches. Mac came unglued. Chris took one look at it and said, "Nah, he's fine - put a butterfly band-aid on it and he'll be good to go." I said, "But it's gonna leave a scar." Chris said, "And???... He's a boy." Mac said, "SCAR? I'm gonna have a scar like Reid and Grant? GRANT, GRANT, I'M GONNA HAVE A SCAR LIKE YOU." I don't know what he was more excited about - the fact that he didn't need stitches or that he gained himself a scar. :) Some neosporin, a couple of butterfly bandages, and some extra TLC later and he was sacked out on the couch from all the excitement. The butterfly bandage is still on, but he asks every day when he'll be able to see his scar.  In talking to my mother-in-law who raised four boys, scars come with the territory. But it's something I'll never get used to.

Is anyone else feeling like this when you pull up to the pump?
I know I sure do. Goodness. I paid $3.39 a gallon yesterday and that was after I decided to chance driving on fumes down the road to the "cheap" place. I remember when it was $0.99 a gallon.

This week has flown by. Thank goodness. The weekend is almost here, and I'm ready for it. If you need us you can find us here. At home. Missing an arm and possibly a leg but hopefully still with our first born. ;)

Irregardless, it's Friday, YAY!!!! Oh happy day!

I'd say "poor Mac" but I don't know if that's appropriate since he's so proud of the scar he's going to have. Maybe I should say "poor Mama"! And if it makes you feel any better, I just put a little gas in my ride this morning at $3.79 a gallon. When I say "a little", I do mean a little. It makes me furious to think about it. When I was 16 and driving a ten year old Honda it took all of $12 to fill my tank to the brim. Those were the days...
